Sylvania FDC303SL, 2x TDA1540D, CDM-0 in NOS Mode, Recapped and Upgraded

Here is my Sylvania FDC303SL Audiophile grade CD player with 2x TDA1540D DACs with Philips CDM-0 laser mechanism set to work in NOS (Non Over Sampling) mode. This player is completely recapped and ready to serve you quality music for another life time.

This is the same model as Philips CD303 or Magnavox FD3030. Upgrades along with the NOS mod make a huge sound improvement resulting in crystal clear and more transparent sound, deeper low end and much darker background. I hope this player will bring a new life to your CD collection.

The sound is very reach, dense and analog (tube) like. Pleasure to listen to with its natural flow and liquid musicality. It is one of the heaviest players I have seen. It is built on metal frame with minimal use of plastics. High quality components and workmanship!!! All parts used in construction of this player are top notch.

This design is based on Philips TDA1540D which is very well respected among audiophiles. This DAC comes in ceramic package that is more desirable than a regular plastic case.

Some audiophiles prefer TDA1540 DAC over more modern and higher resolution DACs. This is with a right reason. Comparing to even modern and a lot more expensive players this player offers hard to beat musicality and connection to the music. The music feels so natural, liquid and makes you listen more.

NOS (Non Over Sampling) Mode makes it even more transparent and steps closer to the stage and performers on it. Just choose high quality recordings or live recordings and enjoy. I have modified many players with Philips TDA1540 / 1541 DAC and agree that these DACs are the closest to analog sound as it could be. This player reads CDs very quickly and tracks very well. The laser lens is cleaned.

All electrolytic capacitors are replaced with new ones of similar or better properties. I have used even additional capacitors for fine noise filtering. I have used Sanyo, OSCON, Nichicon, Philips high quality capacitors. Output signal capacitors are replaced with high quality audio grade capacitors.

Output OPAMPs are replaced with LME49720. These are top quality parts with much better performance that the stock parts. CD tray guides are cleaned for smooth operation. New Output RCA connectors are installed. These are solid copper C. C high quality RCA connectors. The internal cable connecting the audio output signal to the RCA connectors is replaced with high quality silver plated cable with teflon isolation. If you need more information, please ask.
