Complete with Case and Certificate of Authenticity. This is the ERROR Mule coin where the wrong obverse die has been used. The obverse of the 1994 Bank of England issue should have included the denomination'TWO POUNDS' in the Die of the Queen's Head, since this was not included in the design of the commemorative reverse; but about 100 coins were struck and issued in gold using the die (with'TWO POUNDS' MISSING) that was reserved for the Double Sovereign or Two Pound coins in the Sovereign Series. The Royal Mint wrote to its retail customers inviting them to return the error coin for replacement with the correct design.
