Set of 10 U-Boat Encounter covers each signed by a different UBoat Commander. #1 signed by Erich Topp who was awarded Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords, Commander of U-57, U-552 and U-2513 during WWII and the third highest rated U-boat commander. #2 signed by Rolf Thomsen KC with Oak Leaves, Commander of U-1202. #3 signed by Siegfried Koitschka KC, Watch officer on U-552, then commander U-7 and U-616. In fact U-616 was sunk by Wellington's of No 36 Squadron, one of which is shown on the cover artwork. #4 signed by Hans Georg Hess KC, Commander U-995. #5 signed by Paul Brasack KC, Commander U-737. #6 signed by Helmut Witte KC, Commander U-159. #7 signed by Gunther Heinrich, Commander of U-960, it is additionally signed by Flt Lt A. Hilliard, who flew Mosquitoes with No 618 Squadron who sank one U-boat and damaged Gunther Heinrich's U-boat. U-960 was eventually sunk by Wellingtons of No 36 squadron and Venturas of No 500 Squadron. #8 signed by Klaus Andersen, Commander of U-481, during 1940 Andersen was involved in the planning of the German Invasion of Britain. #9 signed by Paul Ackermann, Commander U-1221. #10 signed by Hans Hornskohl, Commander U-566, U-1007, U-3512 and U-3041 All official specials numbered and certified on reverse.
